Shillong, April 22: The CSWO strongly oppose the move to shift the TB Hospital 13 kms away and the granting of the Medical College Contract to KPC Group which is headed by Kali Pradip Chaudhuri who has many lawsuits in California.
Why has the Government also signed a deal with him with disputes to be settled in USA. It has also come to the knowledge of the CSWO that the Law Secretary was not consulted on the on the preparation of the MOU signed with this firm.
The Doctors seems to not have been consulted and taken into consideration and bureaucrats are trying to take over many professional decisions affecting common man. TB is a disease which affects the poor more and it is not feasible for the poor patients to have to travel 13 kms away and such decisions deserve to be investigated into, as this is clear corruption and handing over Government land to such a person who may strand even patients and put the State at risk as he is reported to be a Bangladesh National, is grave and dangerous.
The CSWO is also shocked that an International institution like the IFC (International Finance Corporation) of the World Bank Group had to chose this KPC Group which is already having lawsuits in California for racketeering and Corruption alleged the CSWO.(SP News)
