Meghalaya, Chief Minister distributed pension

Williamnagar, December 3: Meghalaya, Chief Minister Dr. Mulul Sangma distributed pension to beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Social Assistance Scheme & distribution of sanction order of Meghalaya State Aqua-Culture Mission at the premises of Rongjeng Higher Secondary Schiool, Rongjeng, East Garo Hills District on December 3, 2012.

Addressing the gathering Dr. Sangma said that the Social Assistance to the infirm/widows and the disabled under the Chief Minister’s Social Assistance Scheme (SAS) was meant to benefit widows, old and infirm and the disabled. The scheme will enable them to live an independent and dignified lives said Dr. Sangma. It is the sincere effort of the State Government to reach out to people who needs assistance and also to ensure inclusive growth.

The programme also coincides with the World Disabled Day observance and later on the Chief Minister, Dr. Sangma distributed pensions schemes and orders to the beneficiaries.

Among others who were present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner, East Garo Hills Mr. V K Mantri and Director Social Welfare, Mr H M Shangpliang. (SP News)
