Meghalaya Chief Secretary, officially launched the website of the State Rural Employment Society

Shillong, Nov 01: Meghalaya Chief Secretary, Shri. W.M.S Pariat, officially launched the website of the State Rural Employment Society (SRES) at the office chamber of the Chief Secretary, after the third meeting of the Governing Body, on the 31^st October 2013.

Shri. K.N. Kumar, Principal Secretary Community & Rural Development, Smti. I.R. Sangma, Joint Secretary C&RD Department and Additional Mission Director of the SRES, Y. Tsering Principal Secretary PWD, PS Thangkhiew Principal Secretary Soil and Water Conservation, T Dkhar Sr. Tech Director, NIC, N. M. Nampui  Joint Secretary Forest Deptt, D.F. War MD of MCAB, KJV Nagaraja AGM of SBI, Smti. R.V. Suchiang Commissioner & Secretary, Finance, F. Kharlyngdoh Commissioner Secretary C&RD Deptt, Deputy Commissioners of East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi Districts, Project Directors of the DRDAs of Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills, Ombudsman of West Khasi Hills, Shri. B.S. Rumnong, Senior Faculty of SIRD and staff of the SRES were present at the occasion.

The Chief Secretary congratulated the SRES for the good design and layout of the website and expressed the hope that important information relating to MGNREGA will now be accessed by the people of the State.

The portal features the organizational setup, funds, Social Audit, reports, gallery, contacts, news and other important information on the MGNREGS. The website, hosted by the NIC provides link to country and state portals

The State Rural Employment Society is the State Nodal Agency for the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Since the SRES has been established by the State Government, there is a significant improvement in the management of the MGNREGS all over the State, it is felt. (SP News)
