Meghalaya is the 15th State in the country to take up the Result Framework Document: Dr Prajapati

Shillong, June 11: A two day workshop on Result Framework Documents (RFD) organised by the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with Performance Management Division, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India was held at Shillong at the Yojana Bhavan Auditorium in the presence of the Secretary, Performance Management, Cabinet Secretariat, Dr Prajapati Trivedi, Chief Secretary, Mr W M S Pariat, Additional Chief Secretaries, Mr P B O Warjri and Mr B K Dev Verma among other senior officials of the State Government and participants drawn from all State Government Departments.

Addressing the opening session, Dr Trivedi said that Meghalaya is the 15th State in the country to take up the Result Framework Document under the Programme Monitoring and Evaluation System (PMES) which is meant for evaluating and monitoring the performance of the Departments in achieving their objectives.

Dr Trivedi informed that under this system, each department, at the beginning of each financial year, prepares a Result Framework Document consisting of the priorities, announcements and agenda as spelt out by the Government from time to time and work out strategies to achieve  results that will commensurate with the priorities listed in the Document. This way, the efforts of each department to achieve the desired objective becomes more realistic and goal oriented, he added.

Chief Secretary, Mr W M S Pariat while speaking on the occasion said that PMES Result Framework Document workshop which is an effective management tool will enable each department to focus on the goals and objectives of the department and it will also build confidence among the officers in discharging their duties.
