Shillong, November 19: The Chairman jong of Jiantia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) Mr Obil Kyndait who resign from the congress primary membership now will contest in the coming election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly as Independent candidate from Khliehrait constituency.
Sources close to Mr Kyndait, said that the decision was taken after the sitting MLA from Rumbai Mr Nehlang Lyngdoh will no longer contest from the constituency that he already represent twice. In this delimitation Rymbai constituency will be known as khliehrait constituency.
Mr Kyndait has represent Rymbai constituency in the past. But since then he always elected as Member of JHADC. He is the longest serving MDC in the JHADC.
In his political carrier as an MDC Mr Kyndait had hold the post of the CEM in the JHADC, and at present he is the Chairman of the JHADC. (SP News)
