Shillong, July 29: The people of Garo hills yearn for peace, the need of the hours is peace said the Social welfare minister Deborah Ch Marak with out peace no development can take place.
Speaking to SP News Agency the minister said that as the mother form Garo Hills she was pain to see that law and order situation where people live in fear, no one knows what will happen next.
On the statement that comes out on the media that the central government will not call for talk with the militant group like the GNLA and others, the minister said that is the view from the central government and they have every right to say.
“ I from my side the only solution to bring back peace and normalcy in the Garo Hills region is only through dialogue across the table, my personal view is that the central government should call all the militant group in one platform for dialogue to bring peace in Garo Hills” she said (Deborah).
In spite of all the law and order problem in Garo Hills the government is working hard to bring development in the region, she (Deborah) belief that development work is part of the solution to bring peace in the Garo Hills region, the law and order is not only affecting the Garo Hills region but to the state.(SP News)
