Shillong, July 25: The Secretary to the Executive Committee, KHADC, filed an FIR that today at 11.30 AM, the Enforcement Officer and Staff of the KHADC while performing their official duties in checkingleviction of illegal hawkers at G.S.Road, Iewduh were suddenly attacked with dangerous weapons by some persons who are working and led by Shri.Paul Leong and Shri. Kimfa Marbaniang severely injuring the Enforcement Staff viz. Shri-Teilang Thangkhiew, Shri.P.Sohphoh, Shri.Banker Kharkongor, Shri.M.Thongni and Shri.Pynbhalang Kharbuli.
Mr David Laitphlang, President and Shri.Powell Sohkhlet, Genl Secy., Shillong Press Club filed an FIR that today at 11.30 AM, Shri-Marcus Lyngdoh, Video Journalist with T7 News Channel while discharging his duties by way of covering checking eviction of illegal hawkers by the Enforcement Wing of the KHADC at G.S.Road, Iewduh, suddenly he along with the enforcement staff
were attacked by some persons armed with dangerous weapons who were insitgated and led by Paul Leong and his son Shri.Kimfa Marbaniang.
As a result of this assault, Shri.Marcus Lyngdoh was grievously injured and was removed to CH Shillong.
In connection with the above two cases, Shri. Paul Leong and Shri.Kimfa Marbaniang has been arrested and 6 (six) other persons have been picked and brought to Sadar PS to ascertain their involvement in the case.(SP News)
