Tura, Jan 03: Shri Howelson D. Sangma murdered his wife Smt. Helen M. Sangma with a dao at Dawa Nengkatok village in East Garo Hills on the new year day.
Police rushed to the spot to arrest the accused but he refused to surrender himself. Later, Addl. SP along with Dy. SP (HQ) also rushed to the spot and found the accused armed with a dao moving in a threatening manner to attack the Police and local residents despite a warning shot fired by the Police.
As he continued to defy the warning, he was shot and immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Williamnagar from where he was referred to Civil Hospital Tura for treatment.(SP News)
