Shillong November 23: The Seng Khasi celebrated the 113 years of the Seng Kut Snem. Members of Seng Khasi including men, women and young children gathered together to celebrate the annual Seng Kut Snem which literally implies“ Year Ending Congregation” of the Khasi faithfuls of Khasi and Jaintia Hills. The celebration begins by offering prayers to the God Almighty at the Seng Khasi Seng Kmie Mawkhar on Friday.
Marking the celebration the members of the Seng Khasi marched in procession along with tableau, drum beats from Fire Brigade Ground and culminated at Weiking Ground Jaiaw where rituals and prayers are being offered by the leaders of the 
Seng Khasi.
Marching along the way the Seng Khasi faithful’s displayed their traditional dances, songs in accordance with the beating of the drum beats which was taken part by men and women folks.
The celebration also signifies the year ending of the cycle of the four seasons when crops are harvested and looking forward to a year of plenty, prosperity and well-being. The Seng Kut Snem is also a festival to uphold the tradition and culture of the Khasi community.
