The Border Co-ordination meeting between the B S F and, BG B will at Sylhet, Bangladesh

Shillong, November 04: The Border Co-ordination meeting between the Inspector Generals’ Border Security Force and Deputy Director General, Border guard Bangladesh will be  held at Sylhet, Bangladesh  from 5th-8th Nov’ 2012. Last such meeting was held at Shillong, India from 12th -15th  December 2011.

The BSF delegation led by Shri Sudesh Kumar, IPS, IG, BSF Meghalaya Ftr alongwith IG BSF Guwahati Ftr, IG BSF Silchar Ftr and IG BSF Tripura Ftr and Sector DIsG of Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura and  Mizoram & Cachar Frontiers, Staffs officer from BSF New Delhi, Representative of NCB and Ministry of Home Affairs will be proceeding to Sylhet , Bangladesh from Shillong on 5th Nov’ 2012 via ICP Dawki.

The four-days meeting will start on 5th Nov in Sylhet, Bangladesh .The bilateral issues of mutual concern, especially relating to trans- border crimes activities of Indian insurgent groups in Bangladesh, Joint survey of unfenced patches, smuggling of FICN will be taken up by the BSF delegation. The Bangladesh is also likely to take up the issues of firing on Bangladeshi nationals by Indian nationals, phensedyl and narcotics smuggling, etc. Both BSF and BGB delegations are likely to discuss various measures for the better & effective border management in the light of recently signed document on Co-ordinate Border Management Plan (CBMP).

In the wake of the ongoing peaceful relations, these talks are likely to help in further strengthening the mutual ties between the two Border Guarding Forces, which will further improve the lives of the border population. (SP News)
