Shillong, July 31: There is urgent need for the NDA Government of India to conclude and settle all agreements entered into between the Center and the various insurgents groups in the North East for permanent peace.
In the meantime the recent report in a news daily reporting ‘ANVC made Mukul CM” is completely bizarre and it makes us wonder.
It is to be recalled that a leader is elected by the CLP and the Indian National Congress has a laid down procedure and practice where the leader is chosen after consultation with the MLAs of the Congress Legislature Party and in consultation with the High Command of the AICC. Hence the claim that various groups would have a say or have influence as to who would be the leader is totally misleading.(SP News)
