Tura, Naitung 31: The State BJP Vice-President, Shri David Ch Marak on behalf of the Party and people of Garo-Hills strongly condemned the killing of Policeman patrolling duty at Teleronggre on 25th July and at Tura Dalu road on 26th July respectively.
For the people of Garo-Hills the situation has become the “Wait with tension” how, when and where one would be killed and die in Garo Hills.
It is said that, “announce of practical is worth, more than a trounce of theory,” that is, if the Policy makers of the Government and implementing agency could show a one practical example of Peace and tranquility, it is sure that the people and the society in Garo –Hills would once again have confident in the Government of returning Peace and tranquility, which would be once again the source of development in the State.
As per the present situation of Garo Hills is concerned, it seems no amicable formula has been found by the Policy makers and implementing agency in the State either to reduce, normalize or to prevent from further killing of the innocent people.
If one goes by the records, the indigenous Garos including the Nokmas have died more than the settlers from other States and so called the immerge from Bangladesh etc, and worst is the custodial death in the eye of law before where a person is to be pronounced guilty convicted and condemned by the jury.
The mere imposition of army separation and President’s rule in the State will not be the lasting solution to the people rather, move indigenous and innocent Garos may die in the action.
The most appropriate and Power entrusted to judge and monitor the implementing agency of the violation of Fundamental Rights of the Constitution of India “Secure to each and every citizen of India” is the Honorable, minister for Home in the State.
On behalf of the people of Garo-Hills the ministry of Home Affairs in the State is requested to immediately remove (transfer not in Garo-Hills) elsewhere the State DGP and the West-Garo-Hills District SP, Shri Mukesh Kr. Singh who has failed in all fronts and be replace by a suitable and reasonable officer of the department for normalizing from the present situation in Garo-Hills.(SP News)
