Shillong, Feb 24: The Commissioner and Secretary District Council Affair (DCA) Jopthiaw Lyngdoh said that as per record till 7 pm the total turnout in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) election is 70 percent and in Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council is 58 percent.
Mr Lyngdoh told media person that the accurate percentage of the total vote poll will get only tomorrow since few polling officer are yet to reach the designated place. The reason on the delay is due to difficult terrain where polling officer who to walk on foot.
In JHADC there are nine polling stations which they just started to leave the polling station at 7 pm. The accurate percentage in JHADC also only tomorrow will get. The percentage that he has given today is recorded till 7 pm.
The Commissioner and Secretary DCA said that in Jaintia Hills there are six polling station that the turnout of the voters has cross 90 percent. The polling by and large pass off peacefully with out any major incident.(SP News)
