Shillong, May 02: The Governor of Meghalaya Shri C H Vijayashankar has called upon the people of the state to actively participate in the Self-Enumeration process of the Housing Census and House Listing under Census 2027, which commenced in Meghalaya from May 1, 2026.
In a media message, the Governor stated that the self-enumeration initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring accurate and comprehensive data collection.
Urging citizens to provide correct and truthful information, the Governor emphasized that public cooperation is essential for the success of the Census exercise.
Highlighting the importance of the exercise, the Governor noted that Census data serves as the foundation for effective planning, better governance, and inclusive development. The Governor also appealed to all residents to extend full cooperation to enumerators during the forthcoming house listing operations.
Reiterating the collective responsibility of citizens in nation-building, the Governor urged upon the people of Meghalaya to contribute towards building a stronger and more progressive state.
