Aadhaar enrolment and Aadhaar seeding under the AMM implementation

Shillong, Sept 08: The District Administration, East Khasi Hills has informed that Aadhaar enrolment and biometric capture are being conducted in all the Blocks and selected villages of East Khasi Hills District for the next 90 days, with the objective of increasing Aadhaar enrolment coverage in the district.

During the enrolment drive, Aadhaar Seeding will also be undertaken to facilitate access to various government schemes and services such as MGNREGA (100-days wage employment scheme), MHIS (financial assistance for medical treatment and medicines), NFSA (ration, food grains), banking related services, scholarship (student benefits), NSAP (old age pension), LPG connection (to avail LPG/gas connection), mobile connection (to obtain SIM cards) and other such schemes and services.

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, has encouraged all citizens who have not enrolled for Aadhaar to do so, and has also advised Aadhaar holders to update their mobile number linked with Aadhaar, wherever required.

Citizens may avail of these services at the Aadhaar Centres/camps at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong, the offices of the Block Development Officers or at the Aadhaar camps to be organised by the Offices of the Block Development Officers in coordination with various departments of the Government.
