Shillong, Sept 20: The Director General Border Security Force Mr. Parveen Kumar, IPS, reviewed the security arrangements and other border management issues and the initiatives, in a two day conference with the senior officers of all BSF Frontiers along the India- Bangladesh border.
Detailed meetings were held in the conference at Kolkata on 17 and 18 Sept 2026, in which issues related to pending land acquisition cases, construction of border fence, transborder smuggling were discussed.
DG BSF gave directions to expedite the border fencing in the marked unfenced areas. He emphasised on the issues of encroachments and illegal migrants residing in the border belt.
For addressing the transborder crimes and smuggling, DG BSF stressed upon drawing necessary synergies with other law enforcement agencies and civil administration.
Mentioning the Government’s vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat by 2029, DG emphasised that the BSF, as a force will have to shoulder the responsibility. The dedicated and coordinated efforts in this field will surely yield positive results in neutralising and eliminating the criminal networks involved in such anti national and anti social activities.
