Jowai, Sept 20: Today, the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) Jowai Circle successfully intercepted and apprehended three suspected Bangladeshi nationals at Lad Demithring. Upon apprehension and subsequent document verification, the individuals confessed to their true nationality.
The suspects were intercepted while traveling in a white Suzuki tourist vehicle bearing the registration number ML 04 E 3485, which is registered to Treibor Kyndait of Shkenpyrsit.
Following the roadside interception, the individuals were immediately transported and handed over to the custody of the Jowai Police Station. The Union has ensured that a formal First Information Report (FIR) was filed so that a strict legal case is registered against the individuals.
During the proceedings, brokers attempting to protect the network approached the Union, offering bribes amounting to lakhs of rupees to secure the release of the perpetrators. The JSU categorically rejected these financial compromises and proceeded with the FIR.
The JSU stands resolute and will not allow perpetrators of illegal immigration to go unpunished. We demand a comprehensive and immediate police investigation to ensure this cross-border network is completely dismantled, said Shri.Bocheru Mi Pohsnem education secretary, JSU Central Body & Advisor to Jowai Circle.
