Mawkyrwat, January 8, 2013: The First Randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) for 35 –Ranikor (ST) Assembly Constituency and 36-Mawkyrwat (ST) Assembly Constituency was held on Tuesday at Deputy Commissioner’s office Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills District in presence of the District Election Officer, Mr A.Mawlong, IAS and the Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge Election Mr K.L.Nongbri, MCS where representatives of the political parties which included from the INC, UDP, HSPDP, NPP, NCP, KHNAM and Independent were also present.
Earlier, the Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge Election briefly explained the representatives of the political parties about the functioning and accuracy of the EVM which they themselves (representatives) had checked during the mock poll conducted before. He also appealed the representatives of the political parties to inform the people of their respective areas who have not enrolled themselves in the Electoral Roll to come forward for enrolment on the 25th January 2013 which is the National Voters day where on this day, enrolment will be carried out in each and every polling station to be conducted by the Booth Level Officers (BLO) (SP News)
