Shillong Nov 28: It will be a big sigh of relief to the aggrieved Ad-hoc primary school teachers in the state who recently took to the streets expressing their discontentment for being ill-treated by the government for failing to response to the demands for increasing their salary as the cabinet announce to increase their salary effectively from September 1,2012.
The cabinet ministers who met on Wednesday have come to a decision to response to the demands of the ad-hoc teachers in the state an increase their salary by increasing the grant sanctioned for them.
It may be mentioned here that the government sanctioned a grant of rupees 6000 for two teachers in the ad-hoc primary schools but this time the cabinet has decided to increase the sanction two fold which will come to rupees 12,000 for two teachers.
Addressing media persons after the cabinet meeting state Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma informed that the cabinet has decided to increase the salary of the ad-hoc primary teachers in the state.
Besides, Education minister RC Laloo informed that the cabinet has decided to approved the proposal sent by the education department to increase the salary of the ad-hoc teachers who at present served with just a mear 3000 rupees salary.
Meanwhile, Laloo also informed that all this while the government has sanctioned grant of rupees 6000 for one teacher two teachers teaching in the adhoc school whereas this time the cabinet has decided to increase the grant from 6000 rupees to 12,000 rupees which will be effective from September 1 2012.(SP News)
