Ampati, Jan 29: An unidentified female body was found on Tuesday morning near the old waiting shed at Joyfar Junction under Ampati Police Station. Police received the information through a telephonic call and conducted an inquest at the spot in the presence of independent witnesses.
The body was later shifted to the morgue of the District Medical and Health Officer, Ampati, for post-mortem examination. According to preliminary findings and local witnesses, the deceased appeared to be mentally unstable and in poor health. She was reportedly seen in the area for the past three to four months and is suspected to belong to the Muslim community, as she was often heard uttering “Allah.”
The body of the deceased, a thin-built woman of approximately 60 years of age, about 5 feet tall, with dark complexion and short grey hair, has been kept at the morgue for identification.
