Shillong, August 06: Celebrating ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ festival under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Brass and Jazz Band of BSF Meghalaya gave an enthralling and exciting display on International Border at Dawki, West Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya on 06th Aug 2022.
The BSF band played many popular patriotic tunes and left the audience mesmerized with the emotions and love for the country. More than 800 people from bordering areas and tourists witnessed and enjoyed this programme.
The BSF also distributed national flag to gathering and motivated them to commemorate our freedom fighters and to dedicate theirselves in the service of the nation. Shri Thangmuanlal Tonsing, Superintendent, Customs office Dawki was invited as the chief guest in the programme.
Mr. Asem Inao, officiating Commandant 04 Bn BSF during the speech recollected the immense contributions of our freedom fighters and the sacrifices they made in freeing India from shackles of subservience and persecution.
The audience was informed about the contributions of the patriots of Meghalaya like U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma. The audience was also requested and motivated to hoist flag at their houses and workplaces from 13th Aug to 15th Aug 2022.
