Shillong, May 04: The Hynniewtrep A-Chik National Movement (HANM) from West Garo Hills District has sent letter to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr. Conrad K Sangma urged the government to gave approval for the “Garo Customary Law”.
In the letter the organisation urged the Chief Minister to gave approval for the “Garo Customary Law” for the right and recognition for the Garo people, this is demand is what the Garo Community demanded.
In the letter the HANM pointed out that the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council has passed resolution and sent to the Government for approval but till today the government has not given the approval on the “Garo Customary Law”, the letter was sign by the President Mr. Anthony K. Marak anf two of its members.
