Shillong, October 13, 2026: The Housing Department, Government of Meghalaya convened a review meeting on the 7th of October, 2026 at the State Convention Centre, Shillong under the chairmanship of Housing Minister, Shri Marcuise N. Marak.
The meeting was attended by Secretary, Housing Department, Shri B. S. Sohliya, Joint Secretary, Shri L. C. Marak, Director of Housing, Shri A. S. Mukhim, Executive Engineer, Directorate of Housing, Shri M. S. Kharmalki, officials of the Directorate, District Housing officers, Housing Inspectors, technical staff, and officials from the district offices.
During the proceedings, Director of Housing, Shri A. S. Mukhim presented a detailed overview of the Department’s activities, highlighting the progress of various projects and schemes, implementation status, pending issues and challenges faced.
In his keynote remarks, Housing Minister, Shri Marcuise N. Marak emphasised the importance of expediting pending matters and strengthening coordination between the Directorate and District offices to ensure timely completion of housing projects.
He urged officials to work collectively towards achieving the Department’s objectives and addressing ground-level challenges effectively. The meeting also provided a platform for District Housing officers and Inspectors to share their inputs and apprise the Minister of the ground realities encountered in the field.
