Ampati, Oct 15: Reinforcing efforts to improve maternal and newborn care and strengthen healthcare delivery at the community level, Dr. N. A. Khan, Medical Superintendent-cum-Senior Medical and Health Officer-in-Charge of Mahendraganj Community Health Centre (CHC), distributed CMSMS mother and baby kits and visited healthcare facilities and public health programmes under the CHC on Thursday.
The mother and baby kits were distributed in the presence of Staff Nurse Jenitha Koch, Selim Miah, Sub-Inspector (SI), Reaz Miah, IPA Manager, and Imran Haque, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Data Entry Operator.
The kits are designed to provide mothers and newborns with essential items while promoting awareness of maternal and newborn health, personal hygiene, breastfeeding practices and the importance of timely access to healthcare services. The initiative seeks to support mothers during the crucial period surrounding childbirth and encourage healthy practices for the well-being of both mother and child.
As part of his field-level review, Dr. Khan also visited the Ghegapara and Kamarpara Urban Health and Wellness Centres (UH&WCs) to take stock of healthcare services and activities at the facilities.
He further visited Bortola to review the implementation of various public health programmes, including the Tuberculosis (TB) Programme, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), malaria control and adolescent health initiatives. He also visited the Health Mela programme at Baksapara to assess activities being undertaken to improve community access to healthcare services. Dr. Khan was accompanied by Imran Haque, NCD Data Entry Operator, during the field visits.
The distribution of mother and baby kits, alongside visits to peripheral health facilities and ongoing public health programmes, reflects the continued efforts of Mahendraganj CHC to promote maternal and newborn well-being, monitor programme implementation and strengthen the delivery of healthcare services at the grassroots level.
