Shillong, March 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma today announced that the Government of India has released the last installment of scholarship amounting to Rs. 85.0779 Crore under the scheme ‘Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students for the Academic Session 2023-2024.
The Chief Minister inform that the total numbers of the beneficiaries applied for the scholarship are 76,755. In the 1st Installment the Government of India has released Rs.42.32 Crore which was released on 24th June 2024 and paid to 17,364 students.
The 2nd Installment was released by the Government of India Rs. 66.67 Crore which was rleased on 20th November 2024 and paid to 32,064 students, the 3rd and final installment was released today Rs, 85.0779 Crore the 21st March 2025 and to be paid to Paid to 27,327 students.
The Chief Minister though the message posted on ‘X’ state that the amount will be credited to the students account within one or two days, The State Government is committed to improving and accelerating the scholarship process each year to ensure even quicker support for our talented students.
