Meghalaya’s team for the Hero Sub-Junior Girls NFC 2019-20 will leave for Odisha tomorrow

Shillong, Jun 02: Meghalaya’s team for the Hero Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship 2019-20 team will depart for Cuttack, Odisha, on Monday morning, with their first match slated for June 8.

A send-off function was held at the Meghalaya Football Association office here on Saturday for the 19-member squad, which will be accompanied by four officials. Family members of the girls’ were also present on the occasion.

MFA CEO Arki Nongrum, MFA Treasurer Wanshan Kharkrang and Women’s Committee member Iai Nongkynrih spoke at the send-off and wished the team all the best. They also stressed that, being the first time that this team has represented Meghalaya together, the tournament will be a big learning experience for the girls, the youngest of whom – Fragrancy Riwan – is 12 years and nine months old.

Meghalaya will face Kerala in their first match on June 8, Jammu & Kashmir on June 12 and Gujarat on June 14.

The Squad comprised of,Baiarihun Rapthap, Careen Jody Kharkamni, Catherine Kharkongor, Dahunlinshisha Hujon, Darishisha Kharlyngdoh, Deitishisha Nongbet, Fragrancy Riwan, Ibaihun Kurbah, Ishalin Nongrum, Marbel Nongneng, Napaleroiki Lytan, Nazareen Nongdhar, Sanfida Nongrum, Sunalinda Iawrin, Da-ai-jingsuk Basaiawmoit, Naphishisha Kharkongor, Eusibia Kharkongor, Rikynti Thabah, Ideibanrishisha Kharpan.

The Officials are, Ryum T Khonglah (head coach), Sankidaroi Sajem (manager), Shushma Thapa (physio), Baiarkynti Mylliemngap (assistant manager).
