Shillong, Dec 19: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) will honour past and present footballers, coaches and referees who have lifted the standing of the sport in the state over the years at an awards night on Monday.
The function will take place at the State Convention Centre at 6pm where 40 individuals, both men and women, will be recognised by the MFA for their huge contribution to the beautiful game.
The list of awardees is a veritable Who’s Who of Meghalaya football, blending those who have been pathbreakers along with those still building their careers. The players to be honoured have all played for India at junior or senior levels.
For their sterling efforts over the years, this recognition is a step to recognise the awardees and inspire the next generation of footballers in Meghalaya.
