Shillong, March 04: The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) has elected Mr. Sengchim Sangma as the new chairman by defeating the opposition candidate put up by the AITC in the election held today.
In the house of 30 members Mr. Sengchim got 18 vote and the AITC candidate Mr. Dhormonath Sangma got 12 vote, the NPP as of naw has 18 members in the house of 30 members including the nominated members.
