National Seminar on “Role of AYUSH in Health Care Management in NE India” held in Shillong

Shillong, February 27: North-Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy An Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong, Meghalaya  organised a  2 day National Seminar on “Role of AYUSH in Health Care Management in NE India” from 23rd to 24th February, 2017 sponsored by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

More than 120 papers were presented by the delegates from all over India in 6 Scientific Sessions and the best paper presentation was awarded in each session. Most of them stressed on the research and development of AYUSH health care system in NE India, as there is tremendous scope of research due to the rich source of medicinal plants and ethno-medicinal information on account of its biodiversity.

The event concluded with panel discussion cum valedictory function, in which Chief Guest Prof. P K Prajapati, Dean, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi stated that proper policy making is highly essential  to integrate  the traditional and tribal healers of NE region in to the mainstream of AYUSH to scientifically authenticate the ethno-medicinal information. Prof. K. K Sharma, NIA, Jaipur and Dr. D Bhattacharyya, Dy. Director, AYUSH, the Guest of Honour  also shared their views on this occasion. The function was chaired by   Prof. P. K. Goswami, Director, NEIAH. It ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Binay Sen, Organizing Secretary of this National Seminar.
