NEIGRIHMS is being recognized as a Nodal Unit in the INIME Training by UNESCO

Shillong, March 06: The NEIGRIHMS is being recognized as a Nodal Unit in the International Network of Institutes for Medical Ethics Training, UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, and to develop an up-to-date syllabus for medical ethics education which will satisfy the requirements of medical schools in the world.

The formal presentation of the Writs from UNESCO will be handed  to the members of the founder Steering Committee in the Inaugural Ceremony on 11th March at 5 pm in the Auditorium ,NEIGRIHMS.

The Department of Education of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics Haifa’s 3T-Integrated Bioethics in Health Sciences (3T-IBHSc)  Course for Medical, Dental and Health Science Teaching faculty  uses the methodology of a group of ‘Co Learners’ concept, where training faculty and participant senior teaching faculty members are co learners, using the process of ‘Learning Through Osmosis.

As a prelude to the establishment of the Nodal center and Unit, a three-day  workshop on  3T-Integrated Bioethics in Health Sciences (3T-IBHSc)  Course for Medical, Dental and Health Science Teaching faculty, wherein ethical issues of autonomy, human rights and rights of patient, equality equity and justice will discussed on 9th,10th and 11th March 2018  

The workshop attempts to emphasis on social accountability, preservation of resources, effective communication, development of morality, so that there is establishment of a harmonious relationship among the communities, professional and individuals in the health Sector. The workshop also provides guidelines integrating elements of bioethics in the medical curriculum.

It particularly highlights ethical principles that are shared by scientific experts, policy makers and health professionals. NEIGRIHMS will be actively involved in generating resource faculty in Training the health professionals in the region.
