Maligaon, May 15: The Northeast Frontier Railway has observed the Electrical Safety Week-2018 from 1st May to 7th May. This event was observed in accordance with decision taken in 35th annual meeting of Central Electricity Board (CEB) held at Thiruvananthapuram in January, 1999.
During this Safety Week various activities for promoting Electrical Safety were organised like display of banners and posters depicting electrical safety measures, public announcement in Railway colonies for creating electrical safety awareness among railway employees, safety seminars, organising quiz competition on electrical safety aspects at the field level.
Street plays to create awareness of electrical safety, special drives for checking of electrical installation such as sub-stations & railway quarters were also held. Training and demonstration among the supervisors and staff, regarding electrical rules particularly role of electrical inspectors were given due importance.
