Shillong, July 20: A Group of gang on the night of 17th -18th July 2020, abducted one Md. Abdul Rohim, aged 55 years residents of Mahendraganj, South West Garo Hills from Rongsang Abagre bridge construction site, in South West Garo Hills.
On receipt of the commission of crime a criminal case was registered under relevant provisions of law in Ampati Police Station and a joint team was constituted under SP West Garo Hills, Dr MG Raghvendra Kumar and SP South West Garo Hills, Mr. Rituraj Ravi.
A Search operations were launched by the team to rescue the victim and to nab the perpetrators of crime and today; the victim was rescued from Dombagre Reserve Forest in South West Garo Hills.
The mastermind of the abduction and two of his associates including one juvenile were apprehended from Tura while two of his accomplices were arrested from South West Garo Hills.
The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being put into establishing the facts and circumstances of the case.
