Shillong, November 25: One new Alto 800, hit a motor bike bearing registration No. ML05-H-0461 above District Council Point at Lumdiengjri and sped away towards MES. The Lumdiengjri Traffic personnel on duty they immediately informed the personnel at MES Junction
On received, of this information the vehicles then intercepted by the military personal at MS junction. On checking the occupant and the vehicle, it was found that the driver namely Pyndapborlang Mylliemngap 30 years of Smit Mawmluh could not produce any vehicle documents.
Further from the enquiry, it was unearthed that the vehicle was stolen from the Banalari World Car Stockyard by the said person. The above accused was then arrested and forwarded to Court and a case vide Mawlai PS Case No. 108(11)2016 U/S 380 IPC taken up.
It may be mentioned here that the Lumdiengjri Traffic Police personnel on duty were able to foil the theft of a new vehicle without receiving any prior information from the show room who did not realise it till after being informed about the matter, which is due to the sheer diligence of the Lumdiengjri Traffic Police personnel on duty.
