State Govt is yet to take final decision on implementing MHIS III

Shillong, December 10:  With the implementation of the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) by the state government has help thousands of people of the state in getting better treatment in both government and private hospital in the state and outside the state too.

The total household as per the database in the state is 762316, the government is in the process of taking a decision to implement the MHIS III, as the MHIS II had ended in the month of October 2016. For the year 2017 the government is yet to take a final decision for implementing the MHIS III.

In the course of implementing the MHIS I and the MHIS II, the government has also faced out with many challenges’ both technical and from the village headman interference while enrolling beneficiary’s couple with infrastructure issue.

The implanting agency is not only facing the challenges, in enrolling the  beneficiary’s but also in settling down claim by patients who were treated in various hospital in course their sickness, the problems faces like,  Hospitals inability to share Claims Data and Claims reports, issues with Blocking of Packages, Blocking of the same treatment twice, Blocking of packages under a wrong treatment ,Non-maintenance of Medical Records by Hospitals, Patient do not show smart card at time of admission or       discharge.

Sources said that the state government is in the process of starting the MHIS III, with the enhancement of the package from Rs.1, 60,000.00 lakh to Rs. 2,00,000.00 lakh.
