Students of Resubelpara has to work on muddy road, MDC urged Govt to repair the road

Shillong, May 07: The MDC Mr. Rinaldo K Sangma alleged that the Deputy Speaker Mr. Timothy D Shira who is the Local MLA has neglected towards the people of his constituency, the visuals which have gone viral in social media where school children trying to walk through the slushy and dilapidated main roads.

The MDC allege that this is nothing but a depiction of the local MLA’s disconcert towards his constituents and most impotently the state governments failure to provide better road infrastructure and communication for the people of Resubelpara, the district headquarters of North Garo Hills.

It is saddening to know that the Chief Minister and his convoy of ministers passed by these very roads these last elections and make delusory assurances of new road construction sanctions where ironically a single repair work has not been undertaken for years since 2018.

The roads in main Resubelpara itself are filled with severe potholes and over these past years no proper repair has been done but some crony contractors of the MLA have been filling these holes and cracks with red soil and withdrawing AR and SR schemes meant for small repair works every financial year.

Mr. Rinaldo K Sangma  MDC earnestly request the Local MLA of Resubelpara to personally come and visit these roads immediately and make prompt arrangements with the Government  of the day so this ardent and emergent problem of thousands of our rural school going children and office goers and day to day people are taken care of.
