Shillong, May 31: Swachhta Pakhwada 2022 was organised w.e.f 16 May to 31st May with the taking of Swachhta Pledge by its Regional Head Mr.R.K.Tyagi, Executive Director POWERGRID and all it employees in the opening ceremony which was held on 16 May 2022.
The objective of organising the Pakhwada is to generate and promote public awareness on cleanliness and hygiene. Sh.Tyagi on his address to the employees sought for the co operation of each and everyone to promote Swachhta & encourage others of the same.
This year also POWERGRID has organised cleaning drives in their office & nearby locality, distributed garbage bins to Civil Hospital Shillong and NEIGHRIMS Shillong, distributed hygiene items like masks, handwash, soaps to school students in nearby locality Road Campaign on promotion of cleanliness , distributed cotton bags to small time vendors & organised hygiene awareness programmes for its maintenance staff .
In addition to these programmes POWERGRID is conducting similar activities under Swachhta Pahkwada 2022 in the 7states of North East – Arunachal, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura & Nagaland. The forthnight celebration concluded with distribution of cotton bags & reiteration of the Swacchta Pledge .
