Shillong, July 10: The District Administration of East Khasi Hills District has declare the Frontier Headquarter of the BSF at Umpling area was declare as containment zone.
In the order issued late Thursday night said that, whereas, Government of Meghalaya in Exercise of power confer under section 2,3 and 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 has constituted the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulation, 2020 and Amendments thereof for containment of outbreak of COVID-19.
The Detection of positive COVID-19 case in the Frontier Headquarter of the BSF Campus, Umpling with recent travel history from others parts of the Country, vulnerable and affect areas required aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against of any possible spread of COVID-19.
In pursuance with the order from the political Department government of Meghalaya dated 09/07/2020 of the Chief Secretary to the government of Meghalaya, it is therefore necessary to declare the entire Frontier Headquarter of the BSF Campus, Umpling as containment area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with the following measure for due compliance by the public.
No Person or public shall be allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants in the containment area shall not move out. All the inhabitants in the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home; there will be no gathering, events, functions what so ever of any nature and forms shall be allowed.
No Social, political, Religious Economic activities are allowed, all the shopping establishments of what so ever nature shall be closed immediately, the supply of essentials and medical requirement will be ensured through various terms formed by the District administration.
All Government and private institution located within the boundary of the containment area, is herby closed forthwith, till further order. Block development officer of Mawpat, Incident Commander of Zone-V shall be supervising officer of the Frontier HQ of the BSF Campus, Umpling which is declare as containment area.
Any violation of this order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under the Indian Pebal Code. The order was sign by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Smti Matsiewdor W Nongbri.
