The Governor of Meghalaya Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended his warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Parakram Diwas, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose, affectionately called ‘Netaji’. He expressed his hope that the special occasion will inspireall to promote amongst all Indian citizens the great spirit of nationalism and patriotism.
In his message, the Governor said that Netaji was a great freedom fighter whose role in India’s Independence has been unsurpassable. He was an illustrious military leader, superb combat Force organiser and a celebrated battle field motivator.
Netaji was the founder of the Indian National Army and fought for the freedom of India against the colonizer British government during World War II. He coined the most popular salutation ‘Jai Hind’. His charismatic personality and powerful oratory inspired millions of Indians to join the Indian freedom struggle.
His legacies continue to inspire us, the Indians, to preserve Netaji’slegacies and our sovereignty and independence, he said while appealing to the people to imbibe his ‘Nation First’ spirit and move forward to contribute positively to the process of Nation Building on the birth anniversary of Netaji.
On this momentous occasion, I call upon all my beloved people of Meghalaya to emulate the values of NetajiSubhash Chandra Bose for realizing his dream of progressive, prosperous and ATMA NIRBHAR SHRESTH BHARAT, the Governor said in his message.
