The Govt of Meghalaya revised the rates of minimum wages with effect from October, 2022

Shillong, Nov 01: The Government of Meghalaya has revised the rates of minimum wages with effect from 1st October, 2022 for the following categories namely Agriculture; Construction and maintenance of Buildings including Public Health Engineering, etc.

Stone crushing and breaking operations; Construction, Generation and Distribution of Powers, Water supply, land development excavation and reclamation; Sericulture and Weaving, Fruit Preservation, Soil Conservation, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary.

Forest; Local Authority; Public Motor Transport; Saw Mill; Plywood Industry; Motor Workshops; Furniture Industry; Bakery; Shops and Establishment; Printing Press; Sales, Distribution and handling of petroleum products; Steel Fabrication and concrete products including brick making; tailoring; wax and candle industry.

Hotels and Restaurants; Mines and Minerals; Safai Karamcharis; Employment in Registered Factories not elsewhere classified; Employment under  Government Authority  (casual contingency Employee); Domestic Workers and Security Guard. The revised rate for Unskilled is Rs 381/-, for Semi-skilled Rs. 432/-, for Skilled Rs. 483/- and for Highly-skilled Rs 534/-.
