The Indigenous tribes of Tripura, demand for CBI inquiry on the violence that take place in Agartala

Shillong, September 03: Hundred of the Indigenous people of Tripura, who settle in Meghalaya today take up a peaceful procession in the street of Shillong, capital to protest against the violence that has taken place in Agartala on the the 23rd of August las month.

Speaking to media person after the procession, the convener of the Indigenous people of Tripura Mr Denzil, said that, they demand from the Ministry Home Affair of the central government to constituted for the CBI inquiry, to investigate  on the incident what has happen on that faithful day in Agartala.

“we do not want, an inquiry to be conducted by the state government”. Till date no compensation has been paid to thus victim who were injured in the clash, either by the central government or state government, they demand that compensation should be paid, Said Mr Denzil Kalai.

From the indigenous people of Tripura, they have sent their memorandum to the central government, and many political parties to intervene on their behalf, but till date they have not get any respond from any quarter. He said that even the state capital Agartala was not safe.

Answering to quires, Mr Denzil said that “the problem of Tripura is the problem for the entire North Eastern state in the near future, due to the immigration form Bangladesh”. The central government should look into these problems of immigration of people from Bangladesh.

The indigenous people of Tripura, demand for the Tripura land, in the concept of have equal power like what the state have, the Tripura Land also should have for the protection of the Indigenous people, without dividing the state. “ What we wants is equal right on the power that what has given to the state let it be given also to the Tripura Land”.
