The KHADC scrap the MoU and the NOC issued to the UCIL by the previous Executive Committee

Shillong, February 22:  The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC Mr PN Syiem today brought the official resolution in the august house of the KHADC to scrap the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sign between the District Council and the Uranium Corporation Limited (UCIL) and the No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued to the UCIL by the District Council earlier.

The CEM of the KHADC while bring this resolution in the floor of the house on the last day of the budget session of the KHADC, explain that the issued was discussed at length in the floor of the house during the Zero Hours base on the discussion the Executive Committee brought this official resolution to scrap the MoU sign with the UCIL related to the road Construction from Wahkaji to Mawthabah, and the NOC issued to the UCIL for exploration Uranium ore in Domiasait area.

Others members who participate in the discussion on the official resolution are Mr PT Sawkmie MDC from Mawlai, Mr P Syiem MDC from Sohryngkham and Mr HS Shylla MDC From Nongkrem after a brief deliberation on the issued the motion was put before the house which was adopted with slight modification on the resolution.

The House adopts the resolution that the MoU sign between the KHADC and the UCIL and the NOC issued to the UCIL has been scrap, the house also will constitute an independent inquiry on the issued related to the funding for the road construction by the UCIL to the KHADC  from Wahkaji to Mawthabah, and the modification that was incorporated in the official resolution is that, any matter related to Uranium, it cannot be done by the Executive Committee prior approval from the house.
