Shillong, January 16: The ruling People Democratic Front (PDF) in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) today decided to file a fresh petition in the Meghalaya High Court against the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority building By-Laws. Mr PN Syiem CEM informs the media after the meeting.
The PDF meeting today also decided that they will right to the governor of Meghalaya and the state Government to seek clarification, why there is a delay in implementation of the Village Administration Bills, after the KHADC have sent the clarification on the twelve point seek by the home ministry.
The CEM of the KHADC said that the MUDA has given the direction to the Meghalaya Electricity Corporation and to the Public Health Engineering Department not to give light and water connection to the new building without getting building permission from the MUDA. This act done by the Government has put the people who are residing outside the municipal areas in great problem.
When it comes to the VAB, the KHADC will seek first the clarification from the Governor and the state Government and after getting the clarification they PDF will again sit and decide what step they will take either to call again the Headman to discuss on this issued.
The CEM also said that the PDF meeting today is the first meeting of the ruling collation in the KHADC, in this meeting he has welcome the HSPDP members and the lone NCP MDC who has supported the PDF Collation in the KHADC.
