Shillong, October 17: It has come to the notice of the District Police that those subscribing to Tele Advertisement Channels for purchase of products like Naaptol etc are falling prey to advertisements of computerize Lucky Draws promising Luxury Vehicles and items.
Phone calls are then made to the subscriber which have been emanating from Jharkand and to deposit money to certain Bank Accounts. The caller will request for depositing several installments of money and after receiving payment the caller will stop calling nor will the prize be received.
The public are cautioned not to fall into such trap of lucky draws. This is a fake racket with the intention to cheat the public.
