Maligaon, Oct 31: During undertaking routine inspection Assistant Sub Inspector Mr Pradip Goswami and team of RPF post Guwahati noticed one minor girl moving alone in the concourse area of Guwahati railway station in distressed condition.
On being asked, she disclosed her name and age. Later she stated that she ran away from her home at Bijoynagar, under Dist- Kamrup (M), Assam. Thereafter, the minor girl aged about 17 years was brought to RPF Post in Guwahati for further necessary action. After medical examination and observing all formalities the rescued minor girl was handed over to Railway Child Help Line, Guwahati.
In another routine checking by the RPF in train no. 05955 DN Dibrugarh-Delhi special B.P. Mail on arrival of the train at about 12.15 hrs on PF no.1. During checking of coach no A-1 of the said train, they recovered 07 bags containing suspected ganja underneath berth no. 35 as unclaimed.
The recovered bags containing ganja were seized and brought to GRP/ Guwahati. It was found that the bags contained total 80 kgs of ganja, which were duly seized by SI/GRP/ Guwahati in presence of RPF and other witnesses as unclaimed.
In this regard OC/GRPS/ Guwahati registered a case vide no. 69/2020 U/S 20(C) NDPS Act dated. Value of the recovered contraband goods is approximately Rs. 4, 00,000/- (Four lakhs).
Constable Mr. Juma Khan, with his team posted at RPF in Dimapur were conducting checking at Dimapur Railway station premises. At about 06.00 hrs, they recovered 03 nos plastic bags as unclaimed at platform no. 2.
On checking the bags, they detected 03 packets wrapped in black polythene suspected to be ganja. The owner of the bags could not be traced out. Thereafter the bags were brought at RPF Post inDimapur and on weighing found to contain about 15 kgs ganja, valued Rs 75,000/- (approx). Recovered ganja later handed over to Custom Department of Dimapur for further course of action.
