Winners of Mega Miss and Mega Mister N.E extend support to free eye check-up camp

Guwahati; March 3: Chautari Samajik Sanstha, in collaboration with ASG Eye Care Hospital, successfully organized a free eye check-up camp to provide consultations and surgeries for underprivileged individuals suffering from cataracts and other eye conditions.

Extending their support to the initiative, winners of Mega Entertainment’s prestigious pageants, Christina Pheiroijam (Livon Mega Miss North East 2025) and Nawang Dondup (Set Wet Mega Mister North East 2025), actively volunteered at the camp, reaffirming their commitment to social responsibility.

The initiative aims to ensure that those in need receive quality eye care without financial burden. Patients diagnosed with eye ailments will receive all-inclusive support, including travel, food, and surgery expenses, to Birtamod, Nepal, where the medical procedures will occur.

Chautari Samajik Sanstha has already fulfilled its commitments from its last initiative, with 100 percent of previous patients reporting significant improvement in their vision.

Suman Chetri, Cultural Secretary of Chautari Samajik Sanstha, expressed gratitude towards the volunteers and supporters of the initiative. “As a social organization, we strive to provide quality eye care to the underprivileged at no cost.

Birtamod is known for its eye care facilities, which are both effective and affordable compared to other hospitals in Assam. We appreciate the efforts of everyone who has come forward to support this cause.”

Reflecting on their experience, Christina Pheiroijam emphasized that winning the region’s most prestigious pageant is not just about wearing a crown but about taking on the responsibility of making a difference.

She described the volunteering experience as deeply humbling and expressed gratitude for the chance to contribute to a noble cause. Additionally, Nawang Dondup shared that this initiative marked his first step toward giving back to the community. He highlighted the importance of restoring sight to those in need, calling it an honor to be part of a cause that instills hope and transforms lives.

Gopal Chetri, President of Chautari Samajik Sanstha, added, “Our goal is to bring a smile and hope to individuals who have lost all faith in being able to see properly again. We are deeply thankful to Mega Entertainment and its winners for their enthusiasm and genuine care for the less privileged, despite their busy schedules in the entertainment industry.”

Abhijeet Singha, Founder of Mega Entertainment, was also present at the event and highlighted the importance of community engagement. He stated that over the past two decades, Mega Entertainment has focused not only on discovering and nurturing talent but also on fostering a sense of social responsibility among its winners. He commended Christina and Nawang for embodying this spirit and their dedication to making a meaningful impact.
