World Malaria Day 2023,the thame “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement.”

Shillong, April 24: The Deputy Director of Health Services (M), cum State Programme Officer, (NCVBDC), Meghalaya has informed that the World Malaria Day (WMD) is observed every year on the 25th April across the world to raise the awareness and intensify the efforts towards reaching the goal of malaria elimination.

The theme of this year’s World Malaria Day is “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement.” The World Malaria Day 2023 is an opportunity to synergize efforts to mobilize resources and actions to beat malaria by covering, the last mile to reach the most vulnerable people across the state.

The office of the State Nodal Officer, NVCBDC, NHM along with the rest of the country has embarked upon the mission of eliminating Malaria from the country by 2027 and sustaining zero indigenous cases by 2030.

The performance of all health systems and their adaptability to new opportunities, interventions are two of the key determinants of the rate of progress along the path towards elimination of this dreaded disease.

The state of Meghalaya has drastically reduced the Malaria morbidity and mortality over the years and continues to move on the path of Malaria elimination. Together let us join hands and pledge towards achieving the goal of Malaria elimination in the state by 2030 along with the rest of the country.
