Shillong, March 16: The Zublee Foundation, in collaboration with the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi), under the esteemed project VARDAAN, orchestrated a groundbreaking workshop on Deceased Organ Donation.
Held at the prestigious North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya on March 14, 2024, the event drew a remarkable attendance of over 180 enthusiastic participants.
The workshop, a pivotal milestone in VARDAAN’s mission, aimed to illuminate and galvanize action towards organ donation. Ms. Priyanka Borah, CEO of Zublee Foundation, led the discourse, supported by the dedicated team members from Guwahati, Assam.
Commenting on the significance of the occasion, (Prof.) R.L. Nongkhlaw, Dean of Students’ Welfare at NEHU, emphasized the historic nature of hosting such an event for the first time. He underscored the importance of organ donation in contemporary society, setting a tone of profound awareness and commitment.
Prof. S R Joshi, Head of the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, captivated the audience with insights into the vital role of blood and organ donation.
Sharing his personal journey as a blood donor, he inspired many to champion the cause. Prof. Joshi urged participants to amplify awareness and take proactive steps in advancing organ donation initiatives.
The workshop transcended disciplinary boundaries, engaging diverse departments including Law, Biotechnology, Architecture, Information Technology, Agriculture, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemistry, and more.
This inclusive approach ensured widespread dissemination of the message, fostering a collective understanding and commitment to societal betterment.
