Chief of Air Staff made a special reference to the implications in the NE Region

Shillong, May 15: The Commanders’ Conference takes off today at HQ Eastern Air Command, IAF, with Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne PVSM AVSM VM ADC addressing the Conference.

Commanders from Air Force Stations located in North Eastern Region are participating in the Conference which is being hosted by Air Marshal RK Sharma AVSM VM Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command.

The Chief of the Air Staff while addressing the Conference updated the Station Commanders on the security scenario with special reference to the implications in the North Eastern Region.

He further stated that IAF is on a high growth path and is on the process of acquiring multispectral strategic capabilities. He complimented the Air Warriors for the success of recently conducted Air Force Exercises ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘Live Wire’ which showcased the prowess of IAF in wide spectrum of sub conventional and conventional operations in a net centric environment.

He stressed on the importance of Leadership, Team Building and Discipline which were pivotal in the success of these exercises.Earlier on the day Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne PVSM AVSM VM ADC was received by Air Marshal RK Sharma AVSM VM Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command and other Senior Officers on his arrival  at HQ EAC, ALG. The Air Chief Marshal was accompanied by Mrs Kiran Browne, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA). A Ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the Air Chief on arrival.

During the Conference, the Air Chief Marshal awarded trophies to the Commanders for achieving excellence in the fields of Operations, Maintenance and Administration.

Air Force Station  Chabua was awarded the ‘Pride of EAC’ Trophy, for standing first in the order of merit for overall performance, and Singharsi was awarded the ‘Best Non-Flying Station’.

Mrs Kiran Browne, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) presided over AFWWA Meeting (Sanginis’ Meeting) at Meghalaya Hall. The Meeting was attended by Mrs Chitralekha Sharma, President AFWWA (R) and all Presidents of AFWWA (Local) of Air Force Stations under Eastern Air Command besides Sanginis of HQ EAC Shillong.(SP News)
