CM Inaugurated 100 Bedded Hospital at Baghmara, South Garo Hills

Baghmara, the 5th Dec/2012:  The much awaited 100 Bedded Baghmara Civil Hospital was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of State Dr. Mukul M. Sangma today in the pressence of Dy. Chief Minister of State Shri Rowell Lyngdoh i/c Health & Family Welfare Dept. Govt. of Meghalaya, Shri D. P. Walang, Commissioner & Secy, Health & Family Welfare Dept. Shri P.K.Sangma CEM, GHADC and other dignitaries.

The Chief Guest Dr. Mukul Sangma while addressing the gathering informed that the reason for delaying the  inauguration of the 100 bedded civil Hospital is due to the non sanction of post but now altogether 60 post has been sanction to this newly constructed hospital, saying that Mr. Sangma urge upon the medical fraternity of South Garo Hill District to work with full sincerity and dedication terming the very service as “unique, exclusive and special”. He also said that the Government Of Meghalaya has been investing huge sums of money in terms of medical facility and he proudly said that in the India Today Ranking for Best Performing State in terms of Health, Meghalaya ranked 4th Position in the year 2012 whereas it was in the 9th position previously.

Dr. Sangma also appealed the people of South Garo Hills District to join hands together and follow the principle of working together which is the only way to development of the district and the state as a whole. Making mention of all the developmental activities throughout the state in terms of medical facilities and others  Dr. Sangma cal upon the gathering to avail the schemes initiated by the government for the upliftment of the society.
