Jatrakona December 05: The, BSF troops of BOP Jatrakona, Ex-132 Bn deployed in South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi and one Indian smuggler namely Suman Ali (25 yrs) s/o Late Abdul Ali, r/o Vill-Brabari, Ps- Nalitabari, Distt- Sherpur (BD) and Samuel Haque (39 yrs) s/o Abdul Haque, r/o Vill-Simpara, Ps- Baghmara, Distt- South Garo Hills (Meghalaya) while they were trying to exfiltrate to Bangladesh from India near BP No. 1119/9-s. During the search, party recovered 02 Mobiles with 01 BD and 02 Indian Sim, BD Taka 257/- and Indian Currency Rs 2,710/- from their possession.
During preliminary questioning, it was revealed that both the above smugglers are active in Jatrakona area since long and Indian smuggler namely Samuel Haque is a known criminal and is presently on bail in some criminal case.
Apprehended persons have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
